Château De Fiac

This April, Château de Fiac by The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is set to take guests on a journey of the senses with a weekend of exclusive perfume atelier workshops and experiences. From 25 April, Anne Camili, founder of expert curators of bespoke French cultural heritage events Musée À la Carte, and Isabelle Ferrand, President of world-renowned parfumeurs-créateurs Cinquième Sens, will immerse guests in the rich history of French perfumery, elevate their olfactory skills, and present a sumptuous dining experience that combines the arts of gastronomy and perfumery.

Sharing her renowned passion for preserving and showcasing the history and craftmanship of French beauty, Camili will present a private ‘museum’ and historical perfumer’s laboratory at Château de Fiac, exclusively curated for guests. Tracing the evolution of French perfumery from the 1850s – the period in which the Rivals family constructed Château de Fiac – and unveiling the story behind eau de cologne, Camili will transport guests back in time with a hand-picked collection of heritage artefacts, including 19th century perfume bottles, powder boxes and aromatic vinegar salts, specially curated by the Musée À la Carte. Through these museum-quality artefacts, guests can delve into life under the Second Empire, a time when hygiene and eau de cologne reigned, and the art of French perfumery was refined.

Known for its devotion to preserving the art and legacy of French perfumery since 1976, Cinquième Sens and its President, Isabelle Ferrand will lead guests on an immersive journey into the world of perfumery. Presenting the Olfactorium, a meticulously crafted miniature version of the perfumer’s organ, guests will explore an array of raw materials used by perfumers in the second half of the 19th century as they discover the very essence of perfume’s golden age. Offering a rare glimpse into the craftmanship, creativity and emotion that was woven into each scent, this experience truly unlocks the past, one aroma at a time. Guests will embark on a journey of education, better understanding their sense of smell, and how scents can evoke emotion.

Embracing the deep olfactory connection between gastronomy and perfumery, Château de Fiac’s Renaissance restaurant will host a special dinner that awakens the tastebuds through selected ingredients that bridge the realms of taste and fragrance. Led by both instinct and tradition, the dining experience culminates in the crafting of bespoke eaux de toilette, tailored to guests’ personal preferences and creative expression.
